1. The classification of pencils is based on the amount of graphite in the refill. Generally divided into H, HB, B three categories.
(1) H-type pencils, with relatively high refill hardness, are suitable for objects with relatively hard or rough interfaces, such as woodworking scribing, field drawing, etc.; HB-type pencils have moderate refill hardness and are suitable for general writing;
(2) Class B pencils, with relatively soft refills, are suitable for painting, and can also be used to fill in some machine-recognized cards. For example, at present, we often use 2B pencils to fill in the answer sheets.
(3) There are also common colored pencils, which are often referred to as crayons, which are mainly used for drawing.
2. Pencils are divided into ordinary pencils and drawing pencils. The characteristic of drawing pencils is that the hardness of the refill is divided into 13 grades, which are distinguished by the English letters H and B. H means hard, B means soft, hardness H1-H6, the larger the number, the stronger the hardness and the lighter the color. The softness ranges from B1 to B6. The larger the number, the greater the softness and the heavier the color. Ordinary pencils are only rated HB, which means moderate hardness and softness.
Pencil hardness grades 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, H, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H, 9H from soft to hard.
6B: The lead is soft, the tone is deep, and the painting is dark;
4B: The lead quality is softer, the tone is darker, and the lines on the dark side are drawn;
2B: lead is softer and darker than HB, commonly used;
HB: The lead quality is average, the color is darker than 2H, and it is more commonly used;
2H: The lead is hard, the color is average, and it is more commonly used;
4H: The lead is hard, the color is a little lighter, and the lines are drawn with small bright surfaces;
6H: The lead is hard, the color is lighter, and the picture is bright;
